Bossier City Fire Department Hosts Advanced Regional Extrication Training

Bossier City Fire Dept. and other Rescue teams and specialists from throughout the region is attending an Advance Extrication and High Angle Rescue Class at the Bossier City Fire Training Academy located at 5850 Shed Rd. When you come out to the demonstration you will see the “Jaws of Life” a school bus toppled over on 2 cars, a vehicle completely inverted straight in the air, cars in which patients can not get out of as well as rappelling and high angle rescues from the top of the Training tower. These incidents do not occur often but when they do it is important to have First Responders who are trained and have the knowledge, tools and equipment to get people out of these very dangerous situation and save lives. Training Officers on scene will answer questions and media to take part in these exercises with questions and answer periods. Cars, schools buses, tow trucks and other needed equipment has been donated by local companies.
