The Bossier Bearkats defeated the Airline Vikings 70-65 in the “Doc” Edwards Memorial Invitational Friday night at Airline.
In another game, Benton fell to Union Parish 58-53.
The tournament is using a round robin format this year.
Bossier withstood a 43-point outburst by Kevin White, who scored 38 in a victory over Union Parish Thursday. White scored 34 in the second half.
Braylon Robinson led nine Bearkats who scored with 19 points. DT Thomas had 16.
Jusdan Gladney added nine points for Airline.
Bossier (7-4) jumped out to a 15-6 lead after the first quarter. Both teams played well offensively in the second quarter with the Bearkats outscoring the Vikings 20-19 for a 35-25 halftime lead.
White scored 11 in the third quarter but Bossier extended its lead to 52-40 as Thomas scored seven.
White hit three 3-pointers and scored 23 points in the fourth quarter as Airline (8-4) tried to rally.
Bossier was 10-of-13 from the free throw line in the quarter. Robinson scored seven and Thomas six as the Bearkats pulled out the victory.
In games earlier Friday, Cedar Creek defeated Plain Dealing 72-42 and Jonesboro-Hodge defeated Magnolia School of Excellence 78-52.
The tournament concludes Saturday at Airline Vikings.
Benton (5-5) plays Jonesboro-Hodge at 1:30 p.m., Bossier takes on Union Parish at 4:30 and Airline faces Junction City, Ark., at 7:30.
