NATCHITOCHES – The Spirit of Northwestern Demon Marching Band got some relief from the heat this week when two portable evaporative coolers were delivered to the SON Proving Ground next to Prather Coliseum where outdoor rehearsals take place. The fans, which are commonly used in outdoor athletics, arrived courtesy of Stine Home and Yard-Natchitoches and General Manager Randy DeVille, a friend of the band and NSU.
Stine previously donated wood and materials to help the SON build shelving in the William Brent Band Room. The “Best Sounding Band in the Land” is preparing for upcoming halftime shows, “The Dreamin’ Demons” and “Demons Just Wanna,” with their first performance at the NSU-Louisiana Christian game on Thursday, Aug. 27.
