From the Bossier Parish Police Jury: Village Water System Fire Hydrant Testing

Beginning Monday, November 2, crews from Bossier Fire District No. 1 will flow-test fire hydrants on the Village Water System.
Each fire hydrant will undergo a five-minute flush to test pressure and flow rate, ensuring peak performance for firefighting operations and public health.
Residents should be aware that hydrant flushing may cause temporary water discoloration. This is a normal result of sediment being disturbed within the water distribution system, especially settled water in the lines. If discoloration occurs, officials recommend that residents flush their home water systems until the water clears.
These annual inspections and flow tests are essential for identifying and resolving potential issues within the water system, helping maintain safety and reliability for all users.
