Following a day of disruption for AT&T customers across northwest Louisiana, wireless services have been fully restored, bringing relief to residents who experienced connectivity issues throughout the day.
Amid reports of widespread outages, with some customers only displaying SOS calling on their phone screens, AT&T swiftly mobilized efforts to address the situation and restore service to affected areas.
“We have restored wireless service to all our affected customers. We sincerely apologize to them. Keeping our customers connected remains our top priority, and we are taking steps to ensure our customers do not experience this again,” affirmed an AT&T spokesperson.
Throughout the day, AT&T customers faced challenges accessing cellular services, prompting concerns about the potential consequences, particularly in emergency situations where reliable communication is critical.
To mitigate the impact of the outage, AT&T had advised affected customers to utilize Wi-Fi calling capabilities available on most smartphones. Wi-Fi calling enables users to make and receive calls over a Wi-Fi network, providing an alternative communication channel when cellular connectivity is disrupted.
For those unable to access Wi-Fi, alternative options were limited.
