College baseball: Louisiana Tech trails Kansas State in suspended Fayetteville Regional opener; game to resume Saturday morning

Louisiana Tech’s game against Kansas State Friday night in the NCAA Tournament’s Fayetteville Regional in has been suspended until Saturday morning because of inclement weather in Fayetteville, Ark.

Kansas State, the No. 3 regional seed, leads No. 2 Tech 9-4 in the top of the sixth inning.

The game is scheduled to resume at 11 a.m. with Kansas State batting.

The Bulldogs had four hits through the suspension. Michael Ballard was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Tech starter Luke Nichols allowed five hits and seven runs in 1 2/3 innings.

Connor Nation allowed three hits and two runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief. He struck out five.

Kansas State had nine hits, including home runs by Brady Day and Chuck Ingram.

Starter Owen Boerema allowed two hits and four runs in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out six and walked six.
