In a heartwarming conclusion to Inspiring Women Week 2025, the Commission for Women of Bossier City presented its largest donation to date to the Ronald McDonald House Shreveport-Bossier on Tuesday, August 12.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and individual supporters, the commission’s fundraising efforts culminated in a substantial check that will directly support families in need.
Mission Director Lori Barber Moore accepted the donation on behalf of Ronald McDonald House, joined by commissioners Susan East, Vicky Whitman, and Julie Moseley Reeves.
“This check represents more than just dollars—it represents hope, compassion, and a community coming together to make sure families have a place to turn during some of their hardest days,” said Susan East, President of the Commission for Women of Bossier City. “Our hope is that no one will ever have to use this facility, but if they do, they will find every service free of charge and given with love.”
The Ronald McDonald House, the first of its kind in Northwest Louisiana, provides a home-away-from-home for families whose children are receiving medical treatment. The facility offers lodging, meals, and support at no cost, allowing families to remain close to their children during critical times.
