A boil water advisory has been issued for Haughton residents living off Winfield Road
following a water main break along the line. The advisory was issued by Bossier Parish
Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 as a precautionary measure to protect
the residents.

The water main break occurred between the 700 and 1200 blocks of Winfield Road after
a construction crew discovered the break. Water service was temporarily shut off while
crews isolated the break and made necessary repairs to the system.

Until further notice, affected residents are advised to take the following precautions:

 Boil water for at least one minute before drinking or using it.
 Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and food
preparation

The Louisiana Department of Health is currently testing water samples to ensure the
system meets safety standards. The boil advisory will remain in effect until test results
confirm the water is safe for normal use. Residents will be notified as soon as the
advisory is lifted.
