During its regular meeting Tuesday, Jan. 6, the Bossier City Council heard an update on the BeBossier campaign from Lisa Johnson, president of the Bossier City Chamber of Commerce, highlighting the initiative’s continued role in promoting a positive image of the community.

BeBossier is a long-running marketing and community pride campaign launched in 2017 with the goal of showcasing the assets, people, and opportunities of Bossier City and Bossier Parish. The initiative focuses on sharing positive stories, encouraging local pride, and positioning the area as an attractive place to live, work, and visit. Funding for the campaign is supported through the hotel-motel tax, with assistance from both city and parish governments.

“We started this campaign back in 2017,” Johnson told council members. “We came to the city and parish and asked that the city and parish help to underwrite a positive news campaign for Bossier City and Bossier Parish through the hotel-motel tax. It has been a very successful campaign.”

Johnson emphasized that the program relies not only on marketing efforts but also on community involvement.

“We have to remind ourselves that we are the ambassadors of our community,” she said.

Looking ahead to 2026, Johnson outlined upcoming BeBossier initiatives, including the return of the campaign’s annual manual. She told the council the publication is currently on its way to the printer and will be produced as a high-quality, magazine-style publication designed to highlight Bossier’s amenities, businesses, and quality of life.

Johnson said the annual publication will continue to serve as a tool for attracting visitors, new residents, and economic development opportunities, while reinforcing pride among those who already call Bossier home.

Council members thanked Johnson for the update and acknowledged the ongoing impact of the BeBossier campaign in promoting the community across the region and beyond.
