Winners Announced for the 2024 LTPOA SWAT Competition in Bossier Parish

The winners of the 2024 LTPOA SWAT Competition were announced at an awards banquet and dinner
held on Wednesday evening at the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Training Academy. LTPOA Past President
Ben Raymond of the Shreveport Police Department was the keynote speaker. SWAT members from 12
agencies from across the state of Louisiana competed in a 2-day event that consisted of a team shooting
competition on Monday and an obstacle course along with a sniper challenge on Tuesday. The goal of the
competition is to challenge all of the skills of a SWAT team.
The overall winners of the event were:

  1. Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office
  2. St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office
  3. Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office
    Officer Hali Bradford of the Lafayette Police Department was presented the Carruth-Ezernack Team
    Valor Award on behalf of the Lafayette Police Department SWAT team. Officer Bradford was shot and
    critically wounded along with another officer during an incident in Lafayette in August of 2023. Officer
    Bradford is still recovering from her injuries but was on hand to accept the award from BSO Deputy and
    LTPOA representative Drew Harris.
    The 2025 LTPOA Conference and Competition will be held on the campus of Louisiana State Police
    JESTC in Zachary, LA.
