The Girl Scouts of Louisiana – Pines to the Gulf hosted its annual Women of Distinction celebration on Thursday, Sept. 11, at the LSU Shreveport University Center, recognizing outstanding female leaders from across the region while raising support for the next generation of trailblazers.

The luncheon brought together community members from across the council’s 42-parish service area to celebrate women whose lives reflect service, leadership, professionalism, and community visibility. Honorees were recognized for their accomplishments in family, career, and civic engagement, as well as their commitment to values that align with the Girl Scouts mission.

More than just an awards ceremony, Women of Distinction serves as a fundraiser to benefit the Girl Scout Leadership Program. Proceeds from the event help ensure that girls across northwest Louisiana gain access to opportunities that build confidence, foster service, and prepare them to become future leaders.

By showcasing the achievements of purpose-driven women, the event provided local Girl Scouts with inspiring role models and reinforced the organization’s mission to empower young women to pursue their goals and make a difference in their communities.
