Twelve athletes from Bossier Parish schools signed with colleges Wednesday, the first day of the spring signing period.

Four Parkway football players signed — defensive lineman BJ Patterson (Louisiana Christian), defensive back Carter Wells (Southern Arkansas), offensive lineman Dolan Williams (East Texas Baptist) and receiver Michael Collier (East Texas Baptist).

Patterson was a first-team All-District 1-5A selection last season. He had 20 solo tackles and 29 assists. Eleven of his tackles were for loss. He also had three sacks.

Wells, an honorable mention All-District selection, was second on the team with 51 solo tackles. Williams, also an honorable mention All-District selection, successfully made the transition from tackle his junior year to center.

Collier had 16 catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

Three Airline football players signed — running back Tre’Von Jackson (Louisiana Christian), linebacker Sincere Walker (Arkansas Tech) and linebacker Kyler Hivey (Arkansas-Monticello).

Jackson, a first-team All-District 1-5A selection at athlete, was an equally effective running back and receiver. He had 58 receptions for 677 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed for 612 yards on 85 carries and scored seven touchdowns.

Walker was the All-Parish Defensive MVP and a first-team All-District selection. He had 67 tackles, including 22 for loss, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Airline Head Coach posted this on X (formerly Twitter) regarding Hivey. “Awesome player and awesome teammate. Always did what was asked of him and never complained.  Ultimate team guy. UAM is a getting a great one.”

Benton had three signees — Jeff King (track and field, Central Arkansas), Jen Willis (soccer, Centenary College) and Christina Gegg (softball, BPCC).

King was the Class 5A runner-up in the javelin last season. His throw of 194-10 in the West Monroe meet last season was the second best in the state and earned him a spot on the LSWA All-State team.

King was also the Tigers’ starting quarterback.

Willis, a multi-year starter, played midfielder and forward. She helped the Lady Tigers go 12-8-3 last season and finish tied for second in District 1-I.

Gegg, a multi-year starter, was a second-team All-District 1-5A selection at infielder last season. She is a second baseman.

Haughton had two signees — Aniya Hill (track and field, ULL) and Kayleigh Goss (softball, BPCC).

Hill earned a spot on the LSWA All-State in the discus last season. Her throw of 147-0 in the Bossier Parish Championships was the second best in the state last season.
