High school girls basketball: Parish teams fall in second round of playoffs

The 2025-26 season in Bossier Parish came to an end Monday night.

The Haughton Lady Bucs, Parkway Lady Panthers and Plain Dealing Lady Lions all fell to higher seeds in second-round games on the road.

In non-select Division I, No. 13 Haughton fell to No. 4 Neville 57-51 in Monroe, and No. 11 Parkway lost to No. 6 Salem 62-51 in Slidell.

In non-select Division I, No. 19 Plain Dealing fell to No. 3 Arcadia 61-19 at Arcadia.

At Neville, Haughton got off to a strong start and led 17-9 after the first quarter. 

The Lady Tigers rallied in the second but the Lady Bucs still led 27-23 at the half.

Haughton continued to play well in the third quarter and led 44-39 going into the fourth. But Neville outscored the Lady Bucs 18-7 in the fourth to pull out the victory,

In the final game of her outstanding career, Skylar Branch led the Lady Bucs with 23 points. Bella Hammond, also playing the last game of her outstanding career, scored 15.

Joy Fisher led Neville with (22-5) with 24.

Haughton closed its season 24-9, its fourth straight of 20 or more wins.

At Parkway, the Lady Panthers trailed 47-41 after three quarters, according to Nola.com. Parkway cut the lead to one early in the quarter but the Lady Spartans pulled away.

Seniors Khia Thomas and Zara Baker led Parkway with 13 points each, according to Nola.com. The Lady Panthers finished 20-9. Parkway finished in a three-way tie for first in 1-5A, the sixth straight season the Lady Panthers have either won the title outright or finished tied for first.

Kendall Thomas led Salmen (26-3) with 20 points.

At Arcadia, the 2025 state runner-up Lady Hornets were too much for the Lady Lions.

Despite battling injuries, including one to key player Brianna Newton, Plain Dealing finished 16-15 after winning seven of its last nine games.

Arcadia improved to 23-6.
