For the first time in nearly a quarter-century, Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV)
saw 715,533 passengers in 2024, a 14% increase in travelers compared to 2023
passenger numbers, thanks in part to airlines adding larger planes to the eight non-stop
destinations from Shreveport. The 14% increase equates to 87,795 more passengers in
2024 than in 2023. Last year’s totals are also 5% above pre-pandemic 2019 numbers.
This is the highest the passenger count has been since the year 2000.
“We are so thankful for each passenger that chose to fly through Shreveport last
year. We want every passenger to have a great experience at our airport which is why
we will continue with more airport upgrades this year: new restaurant options, brand
new seating with power in all public areas, expanded gate areas for more comfort, and
additional parking spaces,” said Larry Blackwell, director of airports for the Shreveport
Airport Authority.
Allegiant announced new non-stop service to Nashville, the airport’s ninth non-
stop route, that begins May 22nd. Allegiant is also bringing back their seasonal routes
this summer, with non-stop flights to Destin beginning May 23rd, and non-stop to
Orlando-Sandford starting May 29th. Allegiant’s year-round non-stop flights to Las
Vegas continue to be popular as well. Tickets for all destinations are on sale now at
Allegiant.com.
Due to increased demand, airlines added more capacity throughout 2024:
-American added a 3rd daily Charlotte flight, and 6th daily departure to Dallas
-Delta Air Lines added a 5th daily departure to Atlanta
-United Airlines upgraded daily non-stop Denver service to a 76-seat aircraft with First
Class seating
-United added a 5th daily departure to Houston, with a 6th daily departure coming in April
of this year.
