In the spirit of love, fellowship, and service, the women of First Bossier came together on Saturday, February 15, 2025, for their annual “Galentine & Go” event, a heartfelt morning filled with faith, friendship, and giving back to the community.
The event began with a warm and joyful breakfast gathering at First Bossier’s Gathering Place, where women of all ages shared laughter, conversation, and encouragement. With hearts full of gratitude and purpose, they then turned their focus to a special mission of love—assembling Valentine goodie baskets for nurses in the community, a small but powerful way to show appreciation for those who serve others daily.
While Valentine’s Day is traditionally a time to express love to family and friends, the women of First Bossier extended that love beyond their own circles, reaching out to those who selflessly care for others. They crafted more than 20 personalized cards and filled baskets with thoughtful gifts and treats, ensuring that nurses in the area felt seen, appreciated, and uplifted.
“I was honored to deliver the Galentine baskets to the nurses’ station at the War Veterans’ Home,” said Jane Smith, a participant in the event. “First Bossier ladies appreciate our nurses!”
The women of First Bossier believe in living out God’s love through service, and this event was a beautiful display of faith in action. From handwritten notes of encouragement to carefully chosen goodies, every item placed in the baskets was a reflection of God’s kindness and grace.
As the baskets were delivered, they carried more than just gifts—they carried prayers, appreciation, and the love of Christ.
Events like “Galentine & Go” remind us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. The women of First Bossier continue to lead by example, showing that serving others is one of the greatest ways to share God’s love.
As the women of First Bossier gather again in the future, they will do so with hearts ready to serve, always seeking to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their community.
