Red, white, and blue filled the halls of Stockwell Place Elementary on Tuesday, November 11, as students, staff, and families gathered to honor America’s heroes during the school’s annual Veterans Day Parade and Program.
The event, held at 1 p.m., was part of a series of celebrations across Bossier Parish recognizing the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. With American flags waving and patriotic music echoing through the halls, Stockwell’s students proudly celebrated local veterans — parents, grandparents, neighbors, and friends — for their courage, sacrifice, and service to the nation.
Classes lined the parade route with handmade signs and banners, while the school’s student leaders presented a moving program inside the gym. The ceremony featured patriotic songs, readings, and heartfelt messages of gratitude from students who have learned the importance of honoring those who protect our freedom.
The parade drew a crowd of veterans representing every branch of the military. Many were moved by the outpouring of support and emotion shown by the young participants. Laughter, tears, and applause filled the air as veterans walked proudly alongside students who cheered and waved flags in their honor.
Stockwell Elementary’s celebration was one of many held throughout Bossier Parish as schools and organizations came together to pay tribute to veterans on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11. Each event, including the one at Stockwell, served as a reminder that patriotism begins at home — and that the youngest generation is learning to carry forward a deep respect for those who serve.
As the final notes of “God Bless America” rang out, students and guests rose to their feet, united in gratitude for the brave men and women who continue to defend the freedoms that make celebrations like this possible.
