The Bossier City Lions Club, chartered in 1938, is part of Lions Clubs International—the world’s largest service organization. Lions clubs are known for their commitment to serving local communities through volunteerism, vision programs, youth outreach, disaster relief support, and initiatives that address local needs. The Bossier club meets weekly and frequently hosts guest speakers from across the region to help members stay informed and engaged with issues affecting the community.
For decades, the Bossier City Lions Club has been recognized for its charitable work, including providing eye exams and glasses for those in need, supporting local schools, and contributing to statewide service projects. Members say guest presentations like Mayor Friday’s help reinforce the club’s mission of service by keeping them connected to the needs and direction of the surrounding communities.
The Lions Club continues to invite local leaders, organizations, and professionals to share insights during its weekly meetings as part of its ongoing effort to foster civic engagement and community service.
