The Bossier City Lions Club welcomed Toni Goodin, the newly appointed Executive Director of The Bridge Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center, as the guest speaker during its regular meeting on Thursday, July 11.
Goodin, who recently stepped into her leadership role at The Bridge, used the opportunity to introduce herself to local civic leaders and provide an overview of the organization’s mission and services. Her remarks focused on the growing impact of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia in Northwest Louisiana and the vital support The Bridge offers to individuals, caregivers, and families navigating the challenges of memory-related illnesses.
Located in Shreveport, The Bridge Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center serves as a community hub for education, support, and advocacy. The nonprofit provides free care consultations, training for caregivers, and resources to help families plan for and manage dementia-related care. Goodin emphasized the importance of early intervention, community awareness, and compassionate outreach.
A nonprofit leader with experience in program development and senior care advocacy, Goodin expressed her enthusiasm about expanding The Bridge’s presence across the region. Her appearance before the Lions Club reflects a growing effort to engage with community organizations and strengthen local partnerships.
The Lions Club, known for its ongoing support of health initiatives and community service, welcomed Goodin’s message and expressed appreciation for the essential role The Bridge plays in the lives of so many area residents.
As she settles into her new position, Goodin plans to continue meeting with civic and faith-based groups to build collaborative efforts that support dementia care across Northwest Louisiana.
