High school cross country: Parkway’s Robin wins Catholic High race featuring many of the state’s best; Panthers fourth out of 35 teams

Parkway junior Brennan Robin won the boys division in the Catholic High School Pete Boudreaux ‘59 Invitational Saturday in Baton Rouge.

Robin covered the 5K Highland Park Road course in 15 minutes, 9.10 seconds. Highland Baptist Christian’s Tyler Blissett, the defending Division V state champion, was second in 15:20.62.

Robin was fourth in last season’s Division I state meet.

Parkway’s Ben Ruliffson finished seventh in 15:52.68.

The boys division featured the top five teams and seven of the top 10 in the 2024 Division I state meet. 35 teams posted scores. 244 runners posted times.

Parkway finished fourth with 150 points. That’s the same position the Panthers finished in last year’s state meet.

Brother Martin, the 2024 state runner-up, won with 60. Catholic, third in last year’s state meet, was second with 94. Defending state champion Jesuit finished third with 100. Episcopal of Acadiana, the 2024 Division IV runner-up, was fifth with 202.

Other Parkway runners in the scoring were Noah Lafitte (35th), Aiden O’Nishea (53rd) and Isaac Ruliffson (56th).

Landon Champagne and Javaria Flournoy finished 76th and 77th, respectively.

Freshman Caylee Weaver led the Parkway girls with a 42nd-place finish out of 202 runners in 20:37.40. Kiara Jackson was 72nd in 21:33.56.

Parkview Baptist’s Lucy Cramer, the defending Division III champion, won in 18:01.01.

Defending Division I St. Joseph’s Academy won the team title with 54 points. Parkview Baptist was second with 109.

Parkway finished 20th.
